registration cards and markers issued and paid for prior to
July 1, 1918, shall be good until December 31, 1918.

CHAPTER 200.
AN ACT to repeal Sections 99 to 111 (both inclusive) of Article
48 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, as legalized by Chap-
ter 698 of the Acts of 1916 of the General Assembly of Mary-
land, title "Inspection", sub-title "Seed", and to re-enact as a
substitute for such sections twelve new Sections, numbered 99
to 110, providing for the regulation of the selling, offering, or
exposing for sale of agricultural seeds.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 99 to 111 (both inclusive) of Article 48, as
set forth in the Annotated Code of Maryland, as legalized by
Chapter 698 of the Acts of 1916, title "Inspection", sub-title
"Seed", be and the same are hereby repealed; and that new sec-
tions numbered 99 to 110 (both inclusive) be enacted in place
of such repealed sections; and to read as follows:
99. That the term "agricultural seeds" or "agricultural
seed", as used in this Act, shall be defined as the seeds of Can-
ada bluegrass, Kentucky bluegrass, brome grass, fescues, mil-
lets, tall meadow oat grass, orchard grass, redtop, Italian rye-
grass, perennial ryegrass, Kaffir corn, sorghum or cane, Sudan
grass, timothy, alfalfa, alsike clover, crimson clover, mammoth
or sapling clover, red clover, sweet clover, white clover, Canada
field peas, cowpeas, soy beans, vetches, and other grasses and
forage plants, buckwheat, flax, rape, barley, field corn, oats,
rye, wheat and other cereals, which are sold, offered or exposed
for sale within the State of Maryland for seeding purposes
within this State.
100. Every lot of agricultural seeds, as defined in Section
99, except as herein otherwise provided, when in bulk, pack-
ages or other containers of ten pounds or more, shall have a±-
fixed thereto, in a conspicuous place on the exterior of the con-
tainer of such agricultural seeds, a plainly written or printed
tag or label in the English language, stating:
A: The commonly accepted name of such agricultural seeds.
B: The approximate percentage by weight of purity; mean-
ing, the freedom of such agricultural seeds from inert matter,
and from other seeds distinguishable by their appearance.
