CHAPTER 178.

AN ACT to create a special taxing area or district to be known
as the village of Northwest Park, Montgomery County, 'Mary-
land, and to authorize, empower, and direct the Board of
County Commissioners of Montgomery County to make
special annual levies of thirty-five cents on each one hundred
(100) dollars of the assessable value of the real and personal
property of the said village in Montgomery County, Mary-
land, within the boundaries of said village, for the purpose
of opening, improving, widening, maintaining, repairing, and
lighting the streets, roads, lanes, approaches, alleys, side-
walks, parkings, drainage, sewerage, sanitation, and other
village improvements, and for furnishing police and fire pro-
tection, clerical and other public services, including the re-
moval of ashes, garbage, and other refuse, and the disposal
thereof, and for the enforcement of the requirements of all
conveyances of land, situated in said village, and the pro-
mulgation of building and other regulations; for the reduc-
tion of the amount of said special annual levy; for the
selection and succession of a committee to be known as the
Northwest Park Citizens' Committee, who shall appoint a
Treasurer who shall receive and disburse said funds; also
directing the said Board of County Commissioners to pay
over to the Treasurer of said village for disbursement for any
of the aforesaid purposes the money collected on account of
the County road tax in the same amount and manner now
required by law to be paid to incorporated towns in said
county; also empowering the said Citizens' Committee, sub-
ject to the approval of the said Board of County Commis-
sioners, to assess the cost of certain special improvements
against the property abutting on streets, roads, lanes, and
sidewalks; the collection of such assessments and disburse-
ment thereof for the benefit of the residents of said village;
also for petitioning of the residents property owners for the
said special improvements.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That for the purposes of this Act the village of North-
west Park, Montgomery County, Maryland, as hereinafter de-
scribed, shall constitute a special tax area or district and shall
be deemed and taken to comprise all parcels of land embraced
in the subdivision in said Montgomery County called "North-
west Park" as per Revised plat No. 134 recorded in Plat Book
No. 2 one of the land records for said Montgomery County.
