the election to voters desiring to vote, and no other ballot shall
be used or permitted to be used at said election, and any other
ballot used shall be null and void, and shall not be counted.
Persons desiring to vote shall draw a line through the names of
the persons on said ballot for whom they do not desire to vote,
leaving remaining on said ballot the names of those persons
for whom the voter desires to cast his ballot; the names so re-
maining on the ballot being not more than one candidate for
Burgess, and not over five candidates for Commissioner.
369. The Burgess and Commissioners may erect and main-
tain a public building for the purposes of the municipal busi-
ness and for the accommodation of the fire apparatus of the
town, and they shall have power to acquire by purchase or by
condemnation in the manner provided for by Code of Public
General Laws, Article 23, Sections 167 to 173, inclusive, so
far as the same may be applicable, so much real estate as may
be necessary for the erection of such building, and the said
Burgess and Commissioners may likewise purchase any build-
ing already erected for the purposes of municipal business,
and for the accommodation of fire apparatus of the town, and
for a town hall, upon such terms and at such prices as may
be fair and equitable in the judgment of the said Burgess
and Commissioners. And the said Burgess and Commis-
sioners shall have the power to issue bonds in a sum not
exceeding three thousand dollars ($3, 000) payable on or
before fifteen (15) years after date, bearing interest at a
rate not exceeding five per cent (5%) per annum, the terms
and conditions and the rate of interest on said bonds to be pre-
scribed by ordinance, duly passed by the Burgess and Com-
missioners of Middletown, and providing that before any bonds
are issued under the provisions of this section, the question of
the issuance thereof and the purposes for which the same are
to be issued shall be submitted to the qualified voters of said
town, either at the annual election or a special election called
for the purpose, and the said issue of bonds be approved by a
majority of the qualified voters of said town voting at said
election. And the Burgess and Commissioners shall have
power to levy and collect taxes to carry out the provisions of
this section, and to pay the interest on said bonds authorized
hereunder, and to provide a sinking fund for the liquidation
of said bonds at maturity.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the following additional
section be added to said Article Eleven of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, to follow Section 359-B of said
