include having in deposit or possession, soliciting or receiving
orders for, bartering, or serving or delivering any intoxicating
liquor; the words "intoxicating liquor" shall be construed to
include wine, whiskey, gin, brandy, beer, ale, all cordials,
liquors, bitters and all other liquid mixtures or compounds
whatsoever, each or any combination of which are found to
contain more than two per cent, of alcohol by weight at sixty
degrees Fahrenheit, and every mixture which shall contain less
than two per cent, of alcohol if the same be intoxicating.

SEC. 14. And be it further enacted, That all licenses to sell
liquors issued on or after the first day of May, 1908, shall only
extend to September 1, 1908, and be paid for proportionably
for four months; but in the event that the vote be in favor of
license, then new licenses shall be issued and paid for from
September 1, 1908, to May 1, 1909, and thereafter as provided
by law.

SEC. 15. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
according to its terms, dates and conditions, from and after the
date of its passage.

CHAPTER 316.

AN ACT to prohibit the sale of spirituous and fermented
liquors within one mile in all directions from the present
site of Clinton postoffice, Surratt's district, Prince George's
county, State of Maryland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That it shall not be lawful for the clerk of the Circuit
Court for Prince George's county to issue a license in any form
to any person, firm or corporation, to sell spirituous or fer-
mented liquors, nearer than one mile in all directions from the
present site of Clinton postoffice, Surratt's district, Prince
George's county, Maryland.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall take
effect thirty (30) after the date of its passage.

Approved April 6, 1908.

AN ACT to require the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company
