tract which will secure such child a proper home and will
make the person so receiving the child responsible for its proper
care, education, and training; that they will properly supervise
the care and training of such child, and cause such child to be
visited, at least once in six months, by a responsible person,
and that they will make the said Board of State Aid and Chari-
ties of Maryland such reports of their work as the said board
from time to time may require. "

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That any person, corpora-
tion, association or institution, or any officer or agent thereof,
who shall violate any of the provisions of this Act, shall be
guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined a
sum not exceeding one thousand ($1000) dollars.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of
this Act shall not apply to a relative going to any other State,
and bringing a child into this State for the purpose of giving
it a home in his or any other family, nor to the placing of chil-
dren in any institution in this State.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 325.

AN ACT to provide for the appointment by the Governor of
this State of a Commission of three persons to revise the
criminal law of the State, and providing compensation for
said Commission and a fund to defray the necessary expen-
ses thereof.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the
State of Maryland, That within sixty days after the passage of
this Act the Governor shall appoint a Commission, consisting of
three members of the Bar, of capacity, learning and experience,
who are hereby constituted a Board of Commissioners by the
name and style of Commission for the Revision of the Criminal
Law of the State of Maryland, whose duty it shall be carefully
to revise the criminal laws of this State and to prepare and
report to the General Assembly of Maryland at the next session
the draft of a bill revising, making harmonious and rearrang-
ing systematically the criminal statutes now in force in Mary-
land.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the members of said Commis-
sion shall each receive the sum of two thousand dollars for
their services on said Commission, to be paid them upon the
