CHAPTER 128.

AN ACT to punish persons taking and carrying away with
intent to convert to their own use fish of another person,
firm or corporation from any boat, live box, or in the pocket
or crib of any pound net or inclosed or gilled in a fish net of
any kind.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That any person or persons taking and carrying away
fish belonging to another person, firm or corporation, with
intent to convert the same to their own use, from any boat, live
box, or in the pocket or crib of any pound net or inclosed or
gilled in a fish net of any kind, shall be guilty of a misde-
meanor, and upon trial and conviction shall be fined a sum not
exceeding one hundred dollars, or sentenced to the county
jail in the county where he shall be first brought for trial, or
to the Maryland House of Correction, for a period not ex-
ceeding two years, or both fine and imprisonment.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 597.

AN ACT to prohibit licensed dealers in liquors in the State of
Maryland from soliciting, enticing or influencing persons to
drink on the premises of such licensed dealers, by offering,
directly or indirectly, any food, viands or lunch of any kind
to persons visiting such premises.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That any person engaged in the sale or barter of spirit-
uous, malt or intoxicating liquors, and licensed under the
laws of Maryland, to engage in such sale or barter, who shall
directly or indirectly give or offer to anyone visiting the
premises of such licensed person, where spirituous, malt or
intoxicating liquors of any kind are sold or bartered, or offered
for sale or barter, any viands, food or lunch of any character,
except as hereinafter provided, for the purpose of inducing,
procuring or influencing the person to whom the same may be
offered, to purchase in any quantity, spirituous, malt or intoxi-
cating liquor to be drunk on the premises of such licensed per-
son, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and on convic-
tion, shall be punishable by a fine of not more than ten dollars
for each offense; provided, however, that this Act shall not
