against the provisions of this Act shall mark out the words
"For water and sewerage." And if the judges of election
shall decide that a majority of the votes are cast for "Water
and Sewerage," then this Act shall be in full force of law,
otherwise of no effect. The judges of election shall, under
their hands, immediately after said election, certify to the
Mayor and Town Council of Oakland the result of the said
election.
SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its pasage.

CHAPTER 550.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments section 2
of chapter 792 of the Acts of 1906, entitled "An Act to pro-
hibit the pollution of the streams of water in Garrett county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section 2 of chapter 792 of the Acts of 1906, enti-
tled "An Act to prohibit the pollution of streams of water in
Garrett county," be and the same is hereby repealed and re-
enacted with amendments so as to read as follows:
SEC. 2. Any person, firm or corporation violating the pro-
visions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor,
and on conviction thereof before a justice of the peace or the
Circuit Court for Garrett county, shall be fined not less than
twenty-five dollars nor more than fifty dollars, and stand com-
mitted until said fine and costs are paid, or be released by
due process of law.
SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect from
the date of its passage.
