County Commissioners, and by them have been approved, he,
the said Vernon S. Bradley shall be and become entitled to hold
the said office of clerk to the County Commissioners and of
treasurer and collector of State and county taxes in Dorchester
county, as provided under the aforegoing sections, and to enter
upon and take the said office, on the first day of July, in and for
the year nineteen hundred and eight, and he shall hold the said
office until the first day of January, in the year nineteen hun-
dred and ten, and until his successor has been appointed or
chosen and qualifies, and during his said term of office he shall
perform all the duties, possess and exercise all the powers, have
all the rights and receive the compensations mentioned, appoint-
ed and prescribed for the clerk, the treasurer and collector of
State and county taxes in Dorchester county, in the aforegoing
sections 10G. 107, 108, 109. 110, 111, 112, 113, 114, 115,
115A, 115B, 115C, 116, 117, 118, 119, 120, 120 A, 120B,
121, 12lA, 121B and 121c of article ten aforesaid. He, the said
Vernon S. Bradley, shall only receive the sum of nine hundred
dollars as his compensation, for the last six months
of the year nineteen hundred and eight. He shall
hold his office of clerk of the County Commissioners
and county treasurer, under his appointment in Decem-
ber, nineteen hundred and seven, up to the time he
enters upon the office conferred on him by this section and
no longer. If the said office conferred on the said Vernon S.
Bradley by this section shall become vacant during his said
term therein, the County Commissioners shall fill the vacancy,
and the person appointed in his place shall hold the same till
said term expires and until a successor is appointed and quali-
fies. The collectors of State and county taxes appointed in and
before the year nineteen hundred and seven shall continue to
hold office, perform all the duties and exercise all the powers
with which they became invested when they qualified as col-
lectors until they have completed the collection of the taxes
placed in their hands for collection, and until they have per-
formed all the duties connected therewith. No collectors for
the collection of State and county taxes in any of the several
election districts of Dorchester county shall be appointed after
this and the aforegoing sections go into effect. The collectors
for the several election districts of Dorchester county, ap-
pointed in or before the year nineteen hundred and seven, shall
pay all moneys collected by them for taxes which may remain
uncollected and unpaid, on or after the first day of July, in the
year nineteen hundred and eight, to the said Vernon S. Brad-
ley, the treasurer and collector of State and county taxes, under
this and the aforegoing sections, in all respects as if he still
