710 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Cecil
County," sub-title "Birds and Game," as amended by chapters
237 of the Acts of 1896, 434 of the Acts of 1902, and 584 of the
Acts of 1906, respectively, be and the same are hereby repealed,
and that sections 38, 38A, 38B, 38C and 38D be and they are here-
by re-enacted with amendments so as to read as follows:

38. It shall not be lawful for any person or persons to hunt,
chase, shoot at, shoot, trap, kill or in any manner take or de-
stroy any quail, partridge, pheasant, woodcock, snipe, railbird,
reed bird, swamp black bird, wild rabbit, crow-bill duck, teal or
summer duck, or squirrel, or to have in his or her possession
any such birds, rabbit or wild duck herein mentioned in Cecil
county, without the same are to be liberated for breeding pur-
poses, except during the seasons hereinafter enumerated, to
wit: For quail, partridges, woodcock, wild rabbit, from October
the twenty-fifth to December the twenty-fourth; and for snipe
from March 1 to December 24; and for rail birds, grouse,
pheasant, reed bird, swamp black bird and marsh plover from
September the first to February the first; and for squirrels,
from September first to December twenty-fifth; and for crow-
bill ducks, teal and summer ducks and other marsh ducks,
from August first to April tenth; provided, however, these
ducks shall not be hunted, shot at, shot, or killed before the
first day of November in the Elk river below, a line drawn from
Plum Point to Locust Point on said river, or beyond the mouth
of any of the small creeks flowing into the same, from any boat,
vessel or craft of any kind; and it shall not be lawful for any
person, company or corporation to sell or offer to sell or expose
for sale any of the birds or game, except rail birds and reed
birds, wild rabbit or ducks mentioned in this section at any
season of the year, but it shall be lawful for any person to
shoot or destroy, at any time, any kind of black bird flying over
or feeding upon the grain fields.

38A. It shall not be lawful for any person not a citizen of the
State of Maryland to hunt, chase, shoot, trap, kill or in any
manner destroy any of the birds or game mentioned in the fore-
going section of this Act unless he or she shall have first ob-
tained a license therefor from the clerk of the Circuit Court for
Cecil county, and the fee for said license shall be five dollars
and fifty cents for each and every license so granted; and each
and every license shall contain the name and residence of the
person to whom said license is issued, and no person shall use
said license for the purpose for which the same was granted
other than the one to whom said license was issued; and out of
each and every license so issued by said clerk he shall retain
fifty cents of the same for his fee, and the balance shall be paid
