the Female House of Refuge; and to St. Vincent of Paul's
Orphan Asylum of Baltimore any sum now due said institution
for the care of destitute or other minors committed by the
courts or other police magistrates to its care, or who may
hereafter be committed, not exceeding the sum of two thousand
dollars per year; and the said Mayor and City Council of Bal-
timore are further authorized and empowered to appropriate
for repairs, permanent improvements and additions to the
buildings and grounds now used, or hereafter to be used by
the Maryland School for Boys and its successors, such addi-
tional sum or sums of money as in their judgment shall from
time to time be required for those purposes.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 132.
AN ACT to add a new section to follow section 517 of article
4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "City
of Baltimore," sub-title "Charter," as re-enacted by Act of
1906, chapter 469, such additional section to be known as
section 517A, and to give authority to the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore to make appropriations for repairs,
permanent improvements and additions to the buildings and
grounds of the Female House of Refuge and its successors.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be added to follow section 517 of arti-
cle 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, entitled
"City of Baltimore," sub-title "Charter," as re-enacted by Act
of 1906, chapter 469, said additional section to be known as
section 517A and to read as follows :
517A. The Mayor and City Council of Baltimore are further
authorized and empowered to appropriate for repairs, perma-
nent improvements and additions to the buildings and grounds
now used or hereafter to be used by the Female House of
Refuge and its successor such additional sum or sums of money
as in their judgment shall from time to time be required for
those purposes.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
