562 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Towson as a committing magistrate or at the station house at
Mount Winans and St. Denis, respectively, in the Thirteenth
Election, shall be entitled to receive from the County Commis-
sioners more than forty dollars as fees for his services in
criminal cases in any one month, and that no justice of the
peace, other than a station house justice, or the committing
magistrate, at Towson shall be entitled to receive from said
County Commissioners more than ten dollars as fees for his
services in criminal cases in any one month. And that the jus-
tice of the peace selected to sit at the station house in Canton,
in the Twelfth Election District, shall receive from the County
Commissioners the sum of eighty-three dollars and thirty-three
cents per month, or a proportionate part thereof, so long as he
shall continue to act at said station house under the selection
of the Governor as hereinbefore set forth, which sum of money
shall be paid to him by the treasurer of Baltimore county on
the order of the County Commissioners at the end of each
month of his said service, or a proportionable part thereof at
the end of any portion of a month at which the service of such
justice of the peace at said station house may terminate as here-
inbefore provided, and no justice of the peace selected for said
station house shall be permitted to charge any fee except for
the use of the county as hereinafter provided or receive any
gratuity for granting any release, or for the performance of
any duty required by law.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all prior Acts inconsistent
with the provisions of this Act be and the same are hereby
repealed.

SEC.. 3. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 678.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact section 142F of article 20, Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Baltimore County," sub-title
"Justices of the Peace and Constables,'" and to re-enact said
section with amendments and to repeal all prior Acts or
parts of Acts inconsistent herewith.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section 142F of the Acts of 1904, title "Baltimore
County," sub-title "Justices of the Peace and Constables," the
same is repealed and re-enacted so as to read as follows.
