444 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

of the peace of said county to produce before them his criminal
docket for examination.

217. If any justice of the peace appointed as hereinbefore
provided shall fail or refuse to file his account or return, as pre-
scribed by sections 214 and 215, or shall fail to produce his
docket within ten days after a demand therefor, he shall be
liable to indictment by the grand jury of Baltimore county;
and on conviction shall be fined twenty dollars for the use of
the county, and on a second conviction shall be fined a like sum
and shall be disqualified from holding his office; and any jus-
tice of the peace making any false return under said sections,
shall be deemed guilty of perjury, and on conviction thereof
shall be liable for the penalties prescribed by law for that
offence, ami shall forever thereafter be disqualified from hold-
ing office of any kind in the State of Maryland.

218. If any justice of the peace or constable appointed under
the provisions of this subdivision of this article be convicted in
a court of law of any misdemeanor in office, other than those
herein otherwise provided for, his removal from said office
shall be part of the sentence or judgment pronounced upon him
by the said court.

219. The advertisements, orders and notices required to be
published in a newspaper or newspapers, by the Circuit Court
for Baltimore county, the Orphans' Court for said county, the
Register of Wills, the clerk of the Circuit Court, the County
Commissioners and the Sheriff of said county, shall be pub-
lished in at least one newspaper in Baltimore county, out of
the limits of the city of Baltimore, during the publication of a
paper in said county.

220. No person shall hereafter sell, offer for sale, or keep
for sale in Baltimore county any intoxicating liquors of any
kind without having previously obtained a license therefor as
hereinafter provided, but this sub-title shall not apply to sales
made by any person under a provision of law requiring him to
sell personal property, or for sales of cider or native wines by
the makers thereof in unbroken or original packages and not
to be drunk on the premises.

221. All licenses to sell spirituous and fermented liquors
shall expire on the first day of May next ensuing the date of
their issue, and shall be issued for twelve, nine, six or three
months and for no other times.

222. Any person desiring to obtain a license to sell spirit-
uous or fermented liquors in Baltimore county shall, on or be-
fore the first day of April, if he desires a license for twelve
