thereto, any balance of money remaining at the end of the year,
after the payment of the salary of the secretary and inspectors,
and the traveling, legal and other expenses of the board and
the secretary, incurred in the discharge of their duties as such,
shall be received by the treasurer of said board to meet the nec-
essary expenses for the ensuing year.

SEC. 14A. Be it enacted, That none of the provisions of this
Act shall apply to Worcester, Kent, Queen Anne's, Caroline,
Wicomico, Allegany, Calvert, Dorchester, Washington, St.
Mary's, Cecil, Prince George's, Harford, Charles and Garrett.

SEC. 14B. That no member of said State Board of Under-
takers of Maryland, shall be appointed from any county that
may be exempt from the provisions of this Act.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 367.

AN ACT to authorize the Governor to appoint a Commission

on Industrial. Education.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Governor be and he is hereby authorized and
requested to appoint a commission consisting of not more than
five persons, citizens of this State, to make inquiry and report
to the Legislature at its next session, by bill or otherwise, re-
specting the subject of industrial education, including an exami-
nation of the extent to which it is already carried on in Mary-
land and elsewhere, the best means of promoting and maintain-
ing it in its several grades, whether by State or local action
alone, or by both combined; how far it is possible or desirable
to incorporate it into the existing system of public instruction;
the best method of training teachers for such schools or depart-
ments, and what changes, if any, are required in the existing
system of schools to enable them to provide such training, or to
meet more fully the needs of the system of public instruction
as now organized in this State, with such other inquiries as the
Commission may itself institute or be requested by the Gover-
nor to undertake; the members of the Commission shall serve
without compensation, except for necessary expenses and clerk
hire actually incurred and approved by the Governor, not to
exceed the sum of three hundred dollars ($300. 00).

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
