-of 1898, chapter 313, supplemental thereto, is hereby repealed;
provided, that nothing in this Act shall apply to taxes already
levied.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take

effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 564.

AN ACT to repeal section 183 and the five succeeding sections
of article 81 of the Code of Public General Laws of Mary-
land, known as Poe's Code, edition of 1904, title "Revenue
and Taxes, " sub-title "Tax on Mortgages, " in so far as said
sections apply to Garrett county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section 183 and the five succeeding sections of article
81of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Reve-
nue and Taxes, " sub-title "Tax on Mortgages, " be and the same
are hereby repealed in so far as they relate to Garrett county,
as to which county the mortgage tax is hereby repealed. But
this repeal shall not affect the mortgage in Worcester, Wicom-
ico, Somerset, Carroll, Howard, Montgomery, Frederick and
Dorchester counties, but shall be and remain in full force and
effect in said counties.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 704.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments sections 18,
19, 20 and 21 of article 83 of the Code of Public General Laws
of Maryland, title "Sales and Notices, " being chapter 421 of
the Acts of the General Assembly, passed at the January
session, 1906, under the sub-title "Sales in Bulk, " and to be
known as sections 18, 19, 20 and 21, respectively.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That sections 18, 19, 20 and 21 of article 83 of the Code of
