county or city, as the case may be, until such fine and costs are
paid, provided that said term of imprisonment shall not exceed
thirty days for each offense; such fines shall be paid to the
Adjutant General of the State, who shall apply the same to the
use of the active militia.

SEC. 88. The commanding officer upon any occasion of duty,
may place in arrest during the continuance thereof, any per-
sons who shall trespass upon the camp ground, parade ground,
armory or other place devoted to such duty, or who shall in
any way or manner interrupt or molest the orderly discharge
of duty by those under arms, or who shall disturb or prevent
the passage of troops going to or returning from any duty; he
may prohibit and prevent the sale or use of all spirituous
liquors, wines, ale or beer, the holding of huckster or auction
sales and all gambling within the limits of the post, camp
ground, place of encampment, parade or drill under his com-
mand.

SEC. 89. No body of men other than the regularly organized
corps of the National Guard and the militia and the troops of
the United States, except such military organizations as and
are now in existence, shall associate themselves together as a
military company or organization, or parade in public as a
military company or organization, in any city or town in this
State, except by permission of the Governor and Commander-in-
Chief.

SEC. 90. To promote efficiency, and as a reward for continu-
ous service, the Commander-in-Chief shall have power, under
regulations to be prescribed by him, to issue service medals of
appropriate designs to officers and enlisted men of the Mary-
land National Guard who shall complete ten years of contin-
uous service.

SEC. 91. The separate organization in the city of Baltimore
known as the Veteran Corps of the 5th Regiment Infantry, M.
N. G., shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges conferred
by this Act, except that the said Veteran Corps shall not share
in any appropriation made for the support of the National
Guard unless the said Veteran Corps is called out for service
by the Governor in case of emergency or necessity to aid the
National Guard in quelling insurrection, invasion, riot or
breach of the peace; when so called upon the members of said
organization shall first sign and execute and deliver through
their commanding officer to the officer commanding the
National Guard to whom it is ordered to report a form of en-
listment to be prescribed by the Governor for a term of not
less than thirty (30) days nor more than ninety (90) days at
