1508 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

JOINT RESOLUTION No. 15.

Joint resolution upon the death of James Ryder Randall, author of
"Maryland, My Maryland," and providing for the placing of his por-
trait in the old Senate Chamber.

Whereas the General Assembly of Maryland has learned with pro-
found sorrow of the death of James Ryder Randall, author of "Mary-
land, My Maryland," a former citizen of this State, poet and patriot,
whose name will be forever held In kindly remembrance by all the
citizens of our beloved State; therefore, be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the Governor be
and he is hereby requested to appoint a commission of three persons to
procure a suitable portrait of James Ryder Randall to be hung, when
completed, in the old Senate Chamber of Maryland, and the sum of three
hundred dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, to carry out
the provisions of this resolution, is hereby appropriated.
