banking business, and as such, to buy, discount and negotiate
promissory notes, bonds, drafts, bills of exchange, foreign and
domestic, and other evidence of debt, to receive deposits of
money upon which interest may be paid, to buy and sell ex-
change, foreign and domestic, and to issue leters of credit and
lend money on personal or real security.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

Approved April 8. 1908.

CHAPTER 699.

AN ACT to refund to George M. Woodburn, late collector of
State and county taxes in aud for the fourth collection dis-
trict of Charles county, money erroneously paid by him into
the State Treasury.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land. That the Comptroller of the Treasury of Maryland be and
he is hereby authorized, empowered and directed to issue his
warrant upon the Treasurer of said State in favor of George
M. Woodburn, late collector of State and county taxes in and
for the fourth collection district of Charles county, for the
years 1904 and 1905, in the sum of sixty-nine dollars and
eighty-four cents, being the amount erroneously paid by him
into the State Treasury.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved April 8, 1908.

CHAPTER 705.

AN ACT to incorporate "The Board of Trustees of Baltimore
District of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South," and to
authorize said corporation to take, hold and dispose of prop-
erty.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Beverly W. Bond, as presiding elder of the Balti-
more District of the Baltimore Conference of the Methodist
Episcopal Church, South, and Henry F. Hill and Louis W.
Davis, of Baltimore city; John E. Crout, of Carroll county,
and George H. Lamar and William H. Talbott, of Mont-
gomery county, all residents and citizens of the State of
Maryland, and otherwise qualified hereunder, and their suc-
cessors as hereinafter provided for, be and they are hereby
