SECTION. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the charter of the Evangelical Latheral Church,
Zion, of Middletown, Frederick county, Maryland, a corpora-
tion formed under the provisions of Article twenty-three of
the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Corpo-
rations," the certificate whereof is recorded in record of incor-
poration No. two, folio one hundred and ninety five, etc., one
of the record books of corporations in the office of the clerk
of the Circuit Court of Frederick county, in addition to the
powers possessed by it under its certificate of incorporation,
which are hereby ratified and. confirmed, shall have and possess
the further rights, privileges and franchise, particularly men-
tioned in this Act, and that its charter, as set out in said cer-
tificate of incorporation, shall be altered and amended so as to
conform to the terms and provisions of this Act.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Council of the
Evangelical Lutheran Church, Zion, of Middletown, Frederick
county, Maryland, a body corporate of the State of Maryland,
shall, at its first meeting after the passage of this Act, elect by
ballot from among the male members of said church, who are
in good standing and above the age of twenty-one years, and
who are not members of the said Church Council at the time
of said election, three managers, one of whom shall serve until
October 1, eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, one to serve
until October 1, eighteen hundred and ninety-nine, and one to
serve until October the 1st, nineteen hundred. The said Church
Council shall, at its first meeting, in the month of September
of each year, elect, as hereinbefore described, one manager, to
serve for three years, or until his successor shall be elected ;
vacancies, however caused in said Board of Managers, shall be
filled by the council, as before described, for the unexpired
term.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the said Board of
Managers shall meet within ten days after their election, and
organize by electing one of their number as chairman and one
as Secretary. The secretary shall also be treasurer, and shall
serve until October first, eighteen hundred and ninety-eight;
they shall then reorganize, and annually thereafter, between
the first and tenth of October organize as hereinbefore pro-
vided. The said Board of Managers shall as soon as they
shall have organized, take charge of all lands owned by the
said Evangelical Lutheran Church, Zion, of Middletown, Fred-
erick county, Maryland, for burial purposes, and all books,
papers and other property belonging thereto, and administer
