imposed upon the applicant or applicants, for the violation of
any of the promises contained in said application or the viola-
tion of this or any other law or laws, relating to or regulating
or providing for the sale of liquors aforesaid, the said bond to
be signed by the applicant or applicants and at least ten of the
freeholders recommending the issuing of the license, with an
affidavit of such freeholders appended thereto, that they are
respectively each speaking for himself, worth three hundred
dol[ars in real estate situated in Dorchester county, over and
above all liabilities which said bond shall, if approved by him,
be filed by the said clerk with the said application and recom-
mendation for license.
213 B. And be it enacted, That the clerk shall demand and

receive, before issuing such license to sell such liquors, from
the person or persons applying for the same the sum of five
hundred dollars, and also one dollar as a fee to the clerk issuing
said license ; but said clerk shall receive no commission for
collecting and paying out said license money.
213 o. And be it enacted, That all sums of money received

by said clerk under the provisions of the last preceding section,
except the clerk's fee, shall be paid over by him, one half to
the Commissioners of Cambridge for the use of said town, and
one-half to the Board of County School Commissioners of
Dorchester county, for the use of the public schools of said
county, on the first Monday of July, October, January and
April in each and every year, and the bond of said clerk shall
be liable, at the suit of said Commissioners of Cambridge or
Board of County School Commissioners of Dorchester county,
in the name of the State of Maryland, for their use respec-
tively, for all moneys received by the said clerk under the pro-
visions of said last preceding section, and due to them respec-
tively, and not paid orer by him as herein directed.
213 D. And be it enacted, That if any person, firm, company,
