for the custody of the horse or horses, vehicle or vehicles,
ridden or driven by such pereons, in some place of safety until
such offender or offenders shall become sober ; and the said
Commissioners shall by ordinance, subject the property so
taken and deposited to the payment of all costs of the proceed-
ings, and the keeping of the said property, until the same shall
be released according to law.
SEC. 15. And be it enacted, That the bailiff and that the

other officers of the peace appointed by the said Commissioners,
under the powers conferred by this Act, are hereby vested with
the same power and authority as any constable or police officer
may now have under the laws of the State.

SEC. 16. And be it enacted, That the said Commissioners shall
have the the power to levy and collect taxes in said town, not
exceeding in any one year, one and one-qnarter cents on the dollar
on all assessable property in said town, on the same basis of
assessment as the said property shall for said year be assessed
for State and county purposes ; provided, that all property in
said corporate limits used only for agricultural purposes shall
only be assessed as such agriclutural property and not as town
lots. The said Commissioners of Arundel on the Bay shall,
annually, on or before March 1st of each year, certify to the
County Commissioners of Anne Arundel county, the rate of
taxation desired by them to be assessed and collected on the
property within the corporate limits of said town, and such
rate or percentage shall be by the county authorities duly
extended upon said property upon the tax books of said county
in a separate column, said taxes to be extended upon the certifi-
cate of the commissioners as aforesaid, and collected in the
same way and with the same fees and commissions to officers, if
any, as State and county taxes are extended and collected ; and
in default in payment of said taxes, the county authorities shall
enforce the collection thereof in the same manner as is pro-
vided by law for the collection of State and county taxes.
Said taxes shall be received by the county treasurer, and shall be
paid by him as received to the treasurer of Arundel on the
Bay. All road taxes assessed and collected under State and
county authority, upon property within the corporate limits of
Arundel on the Bay, shall be paid by the County treasurer to
to the treasurer of Arundel on the Bay, and by the corporate
authorities be expended for road, bridge and sidewalks used
therein.
SEC. 17. And be it enacted, That the said Commissioners
shall have the power to establish the limit and width of the
