chapter five hundred and twenty-three, entitled "An Act to
incorporate the Mount Vernon Mission and Kindergarten
Association of Baltimore," be and the same are hereby repealed
and re enacted with amendments, and a new section, numbered
"2 A," added thereto so as to read as follows, that is to say :
SEC. 1. That Elgin R. L. Gound, of New York, and Joseph

E. Smith, Frank Woods, Robert A. "Wooldridge and Clarendon
I. T. Gould, of Baltimore city, Maryland, and their successors,
be and they are hereby created and declared to be a body cor-
porate by the name and style of the Patterson Memorial Asso-
ciation, and by that name they and their successors to be
selected as hereinafter provided, shall have perpetual succes-
sion, and shall and may at all. time hereafter be capable in law
to have, receive and retain, to them and their successors, prop-
erty both real and personal, and also to receive gifts, .devises
and bequests from any person or persons capable of making
the same, for the purpose of establishing and carrying on a
kindergarten mission and other religious, social and philan-
thropic work in Baltimore city, and may invest the same and
at their pleasure, transfer and dispose of them in such manner as
they think best.
SEC. 2. That the number of trustees of said corporation

shall not be less than tive nor more than seven, and if at any
time the number shall be reduced to less than five by death,
resignation or otherwise, the remaining trustees shall fill the
vacancy within one year, and the corporators herein named
shall be the trustees for the time being, and shall from time to
time till such vacancies as may occur in the board of trustees,
as provided by this section.
SEC.2 A. And be it enacted, That all legacies now existing

or hereafter given by any person or persons dying after the
date of this Act, and all gifts, grants and devises intended for,
this corporation, but heretofore or hereafter given or made to
it in the name of the "Mount Yernon Mission and Kinder-
garten Association of Baltimore," instead of its name as fixed
by this Act, shall inure to the benefit of and vest and remain
in the "Patterson Memorial Association," and by this name the
said corporation shall be capable of holding, granting, mort-
gaging, leasing, conveying or alienating its property, both real
and personal, for the purposes for which corporation was
created.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
