transaction of its business ; to issue letters of credit and other
commercial obligations and general to do and transact a general
banking business.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said corporation shall

be subject to the provisions of chapter 109 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of 1892, as amended by chapter 160 of the
Acts of the General Assembly of 1896, and to all general laws
applicable to companies or associations of a character similar
to that named in this Act.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 268.
AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money therein mentioned
to pay the claim of Nathan J. P. Tull, late collector of taxes
for the first collector's district of Somerset county, for over-
payment of taxes for the years eighteen hundred and ninety-
two and eighteen hundred and ninety-three.
SECTION 1. Be. it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Comptroller of the Treasury be and he is here-
by authorized and directed to draw his warrant on the Treas-

paid the State of Maryland, for taxes charged against him for

recommended by the Comptroller of the Treasury.

CHAPTER 269.
AN ACT to enable the qualified voters of Garrett County to
determine by ballot whether bonds, not to exceed the sum
of twenty thousand dollars, shall be issued by the County
Commissioners of said Garrett County, for the purpose of
raising funds to erect school houses therein.
