SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take efiect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 19.
AN ACT to repeal section fifty-three (53) of Article thirteen
(13) of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title
"Harford County," sub-title "Circuit Court," and to re-enact
the same with amendments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Effective.

Maryland, That section fifty-three (53) of Article thirteen
(13) of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title
''Harford County," sub-title "Circuit Court," be and the same
is hereby repealed and re-enacted, as amended, so as to read as
follows :

Repeal.

53. Juries shall be summoned to each of said terms of the
court, except the September term, and may be summoned to
the September term, if in the judgment of the court, the
public business so requires.

CHAPTER 20.
AN ACT to authorise the State Treasurer to take necessary
steps for the protection of State House and other public
buildings in Annapolis against fire, and to appropriate a
sum of money therefor.

Summoning
of Juries,

WHEREAS, The fire conditions of the State House and other
public buildings in Annapolis are no longer considered safe by
those whose experience and standing make them reliable
authority; and

Preamble.

WHEREAS, The insurance upon said public .buildings is liable
to be cancelled unless immediate action be taken along the
lines and specifications on file in the office of the Treasurer ;
therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

ate steps in order that the State property may be made safe
and insurable, and that the sum of three thousand dollars, or
as much thereof as may be necessary, shall and the same is
hereby appropriated out of any money not otherwise appropri-
