LAWS OF MARYLAND.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Caroline county

rules and
regulations.

may, in their discretion, establish rules and regulations creating
rewards and premiums to be paid or given to those citizens of
said county who will use wide tires upon the vehicles driven upon
the road of said county, or equip their vehicles with wide tires;
and said Commissioners shall have the power to establish by said
rules and regulations the width of the tires which will en title the
owners of the vehicles to receive the premiums and rewards
which may be established by the County Commissioners under
the authority of this Act.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
Approved April 7, 1898.

CHAPTER 244.
AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to pay the claim of
Hurlbutt and Hurlbutt for curtains furnished in the Speaker's
room of the House of Delegates in 1896.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, Under an order from the House of Delegates at
the January session, in 1896, Hurlbutt and Htirlbutt, of Balti-
more city, furnished curtains for the Speaker's room ; and

Preamble.

WHEREAS, No appropriation was made by the General
Assembly of Maryland for 1896 to pay for the same, and the
claim remains unpaid; therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Comptroller of the State be and he is hereby
directed to draw his warrant upon the Treasurer of the State

Appropria-
tion.

in favor of Hurlbutt and Hurlbutt for the sum of $170 for
curtains furnished for the Speaker's room of the House of
Delegates, in the year 1896, and that the treasurer be and he is
hereby directed to pay the same out of any moneys in the
treasury not otherwise appropriated.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
Approved April 9, 1898.

CHAPTER 246.

AN ACT to add two new sections to Article 56 of the Code
of Public General Laws, title "License," to follow Section
81, and to be designated as Sections 81 A and 82 B.
