County," Article 5, sub-title " Roads," and to re-enact the
same with amendments, so as to read as follows :
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

land, That sections 110, 111, 112, 113, 114, 118 and 119, of
the Code of Public Local Laws, title " Calvert County," Article
5, sub title " Roads," be and the same are hereby repealed, and
that said sections are hereby re-enacted with amendments, so
as to read as follows :
110. On the Tuesday next after the first Monday in the
month of November, in the year eighteen hundred and ninety-

eight, and on the same day every two years thereafter, there
shall be held in Calvert county an election for three road 'com-
missioners in said county, and the persons having the largest
number of votes shall be deemed duly elected road commis-
sioners for said county; and the whole number of persons thus
elected shall constitute a commission, to be styled "The Board
of Road Commissioners of Calvert County;" provided, how-
ever, the present Board of Road Commissioners now in office
shall reniain therein for the time for which they were elected —
that is, until the election and qualification of their successors
under the previsions of this Act.
111. On the second Tuesday in March succeeding their
election the said Board of Road Commissioners shall meet at
Prince Frederick, in an office to be provided for them by the

County Commissioners of said county, and shall qualify by
each taking an oath before the clerk of the Circuit Court for
said county "-that he will faithfully and diligently, and to the
best of his ability, execute the office of Road Commissioner of
of Calvert county," and shall then organize by electing one of
their number to be president of said board, and the majority
of said Board of Road Commissioners, if in their discretion
they shall deem it necessary, shall have power to appoint a
clerk to said board, who shall receive the sum of fifty dollars
per annum, to be paid by the road commissioners of Calvert
county out of the said fund ; and on the same day, or as soon
thereafter as possible, they shall appoint a person from each
election district of said county to serve for two years, unless
sooner removed by the Board of Road Commissioners, as road
supervisor of said district.

112. Before the first day in April next succeeding their
election the road commissioner and road supervisor of each
district shall go over and inspect the public roads in their
respective districts ; and the said commissioner shall advise
