LLOYD LOWNDES, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

Code of Public General Laws, and Article one of the Code of
Pnblic Local Laws of the State of Maryland, relating to State
and county tax collectors, not in conflict with this Act, shall be
held and deemed applicable to all tax collectors hereafter elected
under this Act.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 180.
AN ACT to regulate the payment of the salaries of the
Public School Teachers or Baltimore County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

Baltimore County be and it is hereby authorized, empowered
and directed to make payment of the annual salaries of the
public school teachers of said county in eight instalments; two
of said instalments or payments to be made each term, one at
or near the middle thereof and the other when the quarterly
report, properly filled up and completed, shall be returned.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That to enable said
Board of County School Commissioners of Baltimore county

to carry out the provisions of this Act, the County Commis-
sioners of Baltimore county be and they are hereby authorized
and directed to pay over to the treasurer of the said Board of
County School Commissioners of Baltimore county, upon the
order of the said board, the taxes levied and collected for
school purposes in said county, at such times and in such
amounts as shall be necessary ; provided, the collections from
the school levy shall be sufficient for said purpose, and when
not sufficient funds on hand from the school levy the said
Commissioners, at their disctetion, are authorized to advance a
sufficient sum to supply such deficiency from any other funds
not immediately demandable for other purposes of said county.

effect on the 15th day of April, 1898.
