SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section 11 and section 14 of Article 24 of the Pub-
lic Local Laws of Maryland, entitled "Worcester County," sub-
title "Almshouse," are hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to
read as follows :
11. They shall meet at the Almshouse on the Tuesday next

the first Monday in June, annually, and at such other times as
they shall deem proper, and may make, alter or amend the
rules and by-laws aforesaid by a majority of the votes of such
trustees as may be present at any meeting nt said Almshouse.
14. They shall annually, on the Tuesday next after the first

Monday in June, appoint a keeper of said almshouse, a physi-
cian and such other agents as they may deem, necessary, and
may remove them at pleasure; but unless otherwise determined
by said trustees, the term of office of each employe shall be
for one year, and shall begin on the first day of January in the
year following his appointment.

CHAPTER 33.
AN ACT to give the consent of the State to the purchase of
a lot or , lots of ground in Cumberland, Allegany County,
Maryland, by the United States of America, for the purpose
of erecting thereon a public building, and to cede to the
United States of America jurisdiction over the same.
WHEREAS, By an Act passed by the Congress of the United

States of America, and approved February 20, 1895, an appro-
priation of seventy five thousand dollars was made for the pur-
chase of a lot of ground and the erection thereon of a public
building in Cumberland, Maryland ; and
WHEREAS, Section 355 of the Revised Statutes of the United

Preamble.
|
States requires that before any money can be expended the ;
Legislature must give its consent to the purchase of said land
and cede to the United States jurisdiction over the site thus
obtained ; therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the consent of the State of Maryland be and it is
hereby given to the purchase by the United States of America
