Government for the fiscal year beginning with the first day of
October, eighteen hundred and ninety-nine, and ending with
the thirtieth day of September, nineteen hundred, the follow-
ing sums of money, or so much thereof as may be necessary,
be and the same are hereby appropriated, that is to say :

thousand dollars ; for the salary of the messenger of the Gov-
ernor, one thousand dollars ; for the salary of 'the Comptroller
of the Treasury, two thousand and five hundred dollars; for
the salary of the chief clerk to the Comptroller, eighteen hun-
dred dollars ; for the salaries of two assistant clerks to the
Comptroller, fifteen hundred dollars each, three thousand dol-
lars ; for the salaries of two assistant clerks to the Comptroller,
twelve hundred dollars each, two thousand and four hundred
dollars ; for the salary of, the treasurer of the State, two thou-
sand and five hundred dollars ; for the salary of the chief clerk
to the treasurer, eighteen hundred dollars; for the salaries of
two assistant clerks to the treasurer, twelve hundred dollars
each, two thousand and four hundred dollars ; for the salary of
two clerks to the State Tax Commissioner, twelve hundred dol-
lars each, two thousand and four hundred dollars ; for the salary
of the State Librarian, fifteen hundred dollars; for the salary
of the Commissioner of the Land Office, fifteen hundred dol-
lars ; for the salary of one clerk to the Commissioner of the
Land Office, twelve hundred dollars.

cial circuits, four thousand and five hundred dollars each, thirty-
one thousand and five hundred dollars ; for the salaries of four-
teen associate judges of the first seven judicial circuits, three
thousand six hundred dollars each, fifty thousand dollars;
for the salaries of the judge of the Court of Appeals from Bal-
timore city, and of the chief judge and eight associate jus-
tices of the Supreme Bench of Baltimore city, four thousand
five hundred dollars each, forty-five thousand dollars ; for the
salary of the Attorney General, three thousand dollars; for
commissions to attorneys on claims of the State placed in their
hands for collection, five thousand dollars, or so much thereof
as may be necessary ; for the crier of the Court of Appeals,
one thousand dollars ; for the salary of the State .reporter, one
thousand dollars ; for the State's subscription to two hundred
copies each of volumes ninety-one and ninety two of the Mary-
