and seventy-six, which reads as follows : And
the government of the State Hospital for the
Insane shall be vested in said board of managers,
seven of whom shall constitute a quorum for
the transaction of business, is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, to read as follows : And the gov-
ernment of the State Hospital for the Insane
shall be vested in said board of managers, five
of whom shall constitute a quorum for the trans-
action of business.

Repealed and
re-enacted.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after the date of its pass-
age.

Chapter 469.

AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to meet
the additional expenses of the legislature of
Maryland for the session of eighteen hundred
and eighty-eight.

Effective.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the sum of twenty-six
thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be
necessary, be and the same is hereby appropri-
ated to pay the members and officers of the gen-
eral assembly, including postage, stationery,
mileage and miscellaneous expenses of said ses-
sion of eighteen hundred and eighty-eight.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the treasurer

of the state shall, on the warrant of the comp-
troller, disburse the said sum of money herein
appropriated for the objects and purposes herein
specified to, upon the order of the person or
persons, or bodies politic or corporate, entitled
to receive the same.

take effect from the date of its passage.
