Chapter 418.

AN ACT to incorporate the Garrett county
bank, at Oakland, Garrett county, Maryland.

Incorporated.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That Daniel E. Offutt, Gilmor
S. Hamill, James R. Bishop, John M. Davis,
Singleton L. Townshend, Edward Hoye, Edward
Z. Tower, John E. Guagey, William C. Broad-
water and Charles S. West, of Garrett county,
in the State of Maryland; John P. Jones, Charles
M. Bishop, William G. Brown, James C. McGrew,
Summers McCrum and Scott S. Jones, of Preston
county, in the State of West Virginia, and their
successors in office, be and they are hereby con-
stitutioned and made a body corporate and
politic, under the name and style of the Garrett
county bank, at Oakland, Garrett county,
Maryland.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That said corpora-

made able and capable in law to sue and be
sued, plead and be impleaded, answer and be
answered, defend and be defended in courts of
record, and in any other place whatsoever to
make, have and use a common seal, and the
same to break, alter and renew at their pleasure,
and generally to do and execute all and singular
such acts, matters and things as a corporation
and body politic may and can lawfully execute.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the capital

Garrett county, Maryland, intended to be created
by this act, shall be fifty thousand dollars, in
shares of one hundred dollars each ; five dollars
shall be paid on each share of the stock at the
time of subscribing, and the remainder as the
stockholders may determine and require; and
privilege is hereby given to said corporation to
increase the capital stock to two hundred thous-
and dollars by new subscriptions, or by adding
to the said capital semi-annually a portion of its
net profits, not otherwise appropriated, when-
ever it shall be so determined by the board of
directors.
