whereby the purchaser may be deceived, shall
be guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon convic-
tion or indictment, shall be fined not less than
one hundred dollars nor more than five hundred
dollars for each offence, or imprisoned in the
Maryland House of Correction for not less than
six months nor more than two years, or be both
fined and imprisoned in the discretion of the
court.

Effective.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

Chapter 416.
AN ACT to provide for the granting of licenses
to brokers in grain in the city of Baltimore.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That any person or partnership

eighteen dollars and seventy-five cents for each
individual or representative of such firm or
partnership, may obtain a license for carrying
on the business of a grain broker.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all acts or parts
