son, to inspect and examine into the condition
of said bridge, and to make return, thereof to
said respective boards, with his opinion of the
cost of putting the said bridge in thorough
repair, and keeping the same in repair.

Chapter 377.
AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to Cris-
field Academy, in Somerset county.

WHEREAS the facilities for education in said
school are now inadequate to meet the needs of
its hundred students, and whereas it is desirous
to make said school a high school, for which it
was originally intended, and whereas similar
schools receive state aid ; therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-

bly of Maryland, That the treasurer, upon the
warrant of the comptroller, shall pay on the
first day of June, in the years eighteen hundred
and eighty-eight and eighteen hundred and
eighty-nine, to the trustees of Crisfield Academy,
in Somerset county, each year the sum of four
hundred dollars, to be applied by said trustees
to the purpose, of education in said school, and
make said institution a high school.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
