Chapter 298.

AN ACT to repeal sections one to twenty-six,
inclusive, of article eight of the Code of Pub-
lic Local Laws for Cecil county, entitled
"Alms House," and to re-enact the same with
amendments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-

bly of Maryland, That sections one to twenty-
six, inclusive, of article eight of the Code of
Public Local Laws for Cecil county be and the
same are hereby repealed, and the following
sections enacted in lieu thereof.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the trustees
of the poor and insane of Cecil county shall con-
sist of nine persons, inhabitants of the county,

and not more than one of whom shall reside in
each of the nine election districts of the county.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That David P.
Davis, Henry H. Brady, William Schouler,
Robert Mackey, Alfred Ford, Thomas Waring,
Thomas C. Bond, Jno. W. Bell and George W.
Gifford be and they are hereby appointed trus-
tees of the poor and insane of Cecil county from
the date that this act takes effect until their

Trustees.

Successors shall have been chosen and qualified;
and in the event of a vacancy or vacancies
happening by the non-acceptance, death, re-
moval from the county, or disqualification of
any of the persons herein named, the vacancy
or vacancies shall be filled by the remaining
persons herein named at their next meeting,
after they shall have qualified as hereinafter
provided; and the person or persons selected to
fill said vacancy or vacancies shall reside in the
election district of said county wherein the per-
son or persons resided whose non-acceptance,
death, removal or disqualification created said
vacancy or vacancies, and shall be a member or
members of the political party with which the
person or persons was or were identified, whose
non-acceptance, death, removal or disqualifica-
tion created said vacancy or vacancies.
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the said trustees
who shall accept said office shall meet at the
almshouse of the county on the first Monday of
