SEC. 167. No pharmacist or druggist in Har-

ford county shall sell, directly or indirectly, any
spirituous or fermented liquors, alcoholic bitters
or intoxicating drinks of any kind, except upon
the written bona fide prescription of a regular
practicing physician of Harford county, whose
name shall be signed thereto, and all such pre-
scriptions shall be filed and kept by such phar-
macist or druggist, and no prescriptions shall
serve for more than one purchase ; but no phy-
sician shall make or sign such prescription unless
the person for whom it is made is actually sick,
or unless liquor is required by such person as a
medicine, but a pharmacist or druggist may give
or sell liquors to be used by a sick person in a
case of extreme illness, or sudden injury, when
delay might be dangerous to such sick or injured
person, and may give or sell wine to be used for
sacramental purposes only.
SEC. 168. Any pharmacist, druggist or physi-

cian who shall violate the provisions of the pre-
ceding section shall, upon indictment and con-
viction thereof, be fined not less than fifty dol-
lars, nor more than five hundred dollars, and
failing to pay said fine and costs of prosecution
forthwith, shall be sentenced to be confined in
the county jail for not less than thirty days nor
more than six months.
SEC. 169. The provisions of this act shall not

apply to sales by the manufacturers of cider in
quantities not less than a gallon, which shall not
be drank on the premises of the manufacturer,
nor to sales of spirituous or fermented liquors by
the manufacturer thereof to any person licensed
to sell spirituous or fermented liquors in Harford
county.
SEC. 170. Whenever any license shall be sup-

pressed for any violation of this act, it shall not
be lawful for the clerk of the circuit court for
Harford county to grant a license to any other
person to sell spirituous or fermented liquor
upon the premises covered by the license sup-
pressed for the term of one year from the date
of such suppression.

Expire.
|
SEC. 171. All licenses issued under this act
shall expire on the first day of May annually,
but licenses may be issued for a shorter period
|
