company, or a transfer of any such registration,
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon con-
viction thereof shall be fined not less than ten
nor more than one hundred dollars.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its date.

Chapter 381.

AN ACT to repeal chapter four hundred and
fifty-six of the acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland passed at the session of eighteen
hundred and eighty-six, entitled "An act
authorizing the governor to appoint general
measurers of oysters for the State of Mary-
land," and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments, and to designate the licensed measurers
of oysters.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-

sembly of Maryland, That chapter four hundred
and fifty-six of the acts passed at the January
session of eighteen hundred and eighty-six, en-
titled "An act to repeal chapter two hundred
and ninety-nine of the acts passed at the session
of eighteen hundred and eighty-four, entitled
'An act authorizing the governor to appoint
general measurers of oysters for the State of
Maryland,' '' be and the same is hereby repealed
and the following enacted in lieu thereof for the
better measurement of oysters sold in the shell
in this state :
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the governor,

at each session of the general assembly, shall
appoint five persons for the city of Baltimore,
and one person for each of all the other ports
or towns bordering upon the Chesapeake bay
and its tributaries, to be known as the general
measurers of oysters for the city, town or port
for which he shall be appointed. Each general
measurer of oysters shall give bond to the State
of Maryland in the sum of three thousand
