Chapter 270.

AN ACT to refund to Asa A. Joyce, late col-
lector of taxes for Anne Arundel county, the
sum of twenty dollars and thirty-one cents
for money erroneously paid into the treasury
of the state.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the treasurer of the state

be and he is hereby authorized and directed on
the warrant of the comptroller, which said
comptroller is hereby authorized and directed to
draw, to pay to Asa A. Joyce, late tax collector
for the fourth district of Anne Arundel county
for the year eighteen hundred and eighty-four,
the sum of twenty dollars and thirty-one cents,
being the sum paid into the treasury of the state
by said Asa A. Joyce, as such collector, in excess
of the amount due by him for state taxes for
said year, as shown by the certificate and recom-
mendation of the treasurer and comptroller of
the state.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
