thereof as may be required, for the efficient
navigation and use of the said steamer for the
purposes aforesaid, in each and e very year ; and
the comptroller is hereby authorized and direct-
ed, upon receiving such requisitions from said
board from time to time, in conformity here-
with, to issue his warrant to the treasurer for
the payment of the monies so required and
hereby appropriated upon the part of the state ;
and the register of the city of Baltimore is
hereby authorized and required to answer and
pay the said requisition when made in conform-
ity herewith, from time to time, for which end
the mayor and city council of Baltimore are
hereby authorized and required to make provi-
sion for the same by proper assessment and levy,
from time to time, in the usual way. If at any
time the said board shall deem it necessary and
proper to use any of the wharf property of the
city, belonging to Baltimore city, for the pur-
poses of said steamer and her operations, they
shall be entitled to the use of the same, free of
all charge.
SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That when sale of
the said ice-boat Maryland shall have been

effected by the said board, one-half of net
proceeds of the sale thereof shall be paid by the
said board to the treasurer of the state, and the
other half to the register of the said city, for the
use of the mayor and city council of Baltimore ;
but if the said board shall deem it necessary to
make use of the whole or any part of the pro-
ceeds of the sale of the ice-boat Maryland for
the construction of the new boat, they are au-
thorized to do so in addition to the sum herein-
before appropriated.
SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That all parts of said

act, to which this act is an amendment, incon-
sistent with the provisions of this act, shall be
and they are hereby repealed.

Effective.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect immediately from and after its pas-
sage.
