Chapter 216,
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amend-
ments, section twenty-two of article six of the
Public General Laws, title "Apprentices."

Repealed and
re-enacted.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That section twenty-two of ar-
ticle six of the Code of Public General Laws,
title "Apprentices," be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments, so
as to read as follows :

tiary and the managers of the House of Correc-
tion, or any three of them respectively, may bind
as apprentices, until the age of twenty-one for
males, and eighteen for females, the children of
female convicts brought into the penitentiary or
House of Correction, respectively, with their
mothers, or born there during their time of ser-
vice, and the managers of the House of Refuge
shall have the same power over minors commit-
ted thereto ; and all indentures or contracts so
made shall be recorded in the orphans' court of
Baltimore city within thirty days from the exe-
cution thereof.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to amend article eleven of the Code of
Public Local Laws of the State of Maryland,
entitled "Frederick County," sub-title "Elec-
tions," by adding a new section thereto, to be
known as section forty-nine A.
