Chapter 155.

AN ACT to amend the act of eighteen hundred
and eighty-two, chapter twenty-two, entitled
''An act to provide for the uniform Registration
of the names of all the qualified voters of this
state, and the several amendments thereto
enacted by the acts of eighteen hundred and
eighty-two, chapter one hundred and thirty-
five, and eighteen hundred and eighty-four,
chapter two hundred and seventy-one, and
eighteen hundred and eighty-four, chapter
four hundred and sixty-seven."
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-


sembly of Maryland, That instead of one officer
of registration for each of the twenty wards of
Baltimore city to be appointed by the governor
as provided by the act of eighteen hundred and
eighty-two, chapter twenty-two, entitled "An
act to provide for the uniform registration of
the names of all the qualified voters of this state, "
the board of supervisors of elections in the city
of Baltimore, appointed in pursuance of the act
of eighteen hundred and seventy-six, chapter
two hundred and twenty-three, and an amend-
ment thereto, passed at the present session of
the general assembly, shall appoint three offi-

cers of registration for each precinct of said
wards, two of whom shall always be selected
from the two leading political parties of this
state, one from each of such parties, and all
shall be legal voters residing in the precinct for
which they are appointed, and shall be men of
approved integrity and capacity. Said Officers
of Registration shall possess the same qualifica-
tions and powers, be charged with the same
duties and subject to the same responsibility as
prescribed in said act of eighteen hundred and
eighty -two, chapter twenty-two, except in so far
as modified by this act.
