spirituous or fermented liquors or drink which is unlawful to-
sell." The said clerk, after reading said affidavit to each appli-
cant, shall administer said oath to him before granting said
license; said oath shall be printed on the back of each license,
and the said clerk shall write under said oath or affirmation,
the following or like words : The above oaths or affirmation
taken by ———— on the —— day of ———— , A. D. ——; said
clerk shall sign his name to said memorandum. Each person
applying for a license shall sign his name in the license book,
and the clerk shall make the following or like memorandum
under the applicant's name: Cider license number —— , issued
to —— —— for election district number - ——— of Dorchester
county, to operate from this ———— day of —— , A. D. —— , to
the first day of May, A. D. —— , signed ———— clerk. The
person desiring a license must apply therefor, and if a firm
desires the same a member must apply, and no license shall
be granted to any club or corporation, and no license shall
authorize such sale in but one place specified therein.

To exibit

SUB-SEC. 5. The sheriff of said county and any constable or
public officer thereof may require any person or firm engaged
in the sale of cider, other than producer of the fruit or the
maker of the cider, selling in quantities, exhibit his license,
and any such officer may enter the premises where apple cider
is sold, and upon paying therefor at the regular prices, demand
and receive from one pint to one quart of any cider or other
liquor or drink sold on said premises; and such officers shall
be entitled to demand and receive such quantity from every
cask or other vessel on said premises.

Penalties.

SUB-SEC. 6. If any person or firm or the member of any
firm on the premises thereof, shall commit any of the offenses
mentioned in this sub-section, he or it shall be deemed guilty
of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof in the Circuit
Court or before any justice of the peace of Dorchester county,
said person or the members of said firm, shall be punished as
hereinafter provided; if any person or firm, or the member of
any firm on its premises, other than the maker or producer of
the cider or apples, in any of the election districts of said
county where the sale of spirituous or fermented liquors is
unlawful, shall sell any cider without first having obtained a
license therefor to sell the same, such person or firm shall be
fined not less than twenty nor more than one hundred dollars,
and shall stand committed till fine and costs are paid, or in
default of paying, for one month; if any person or firm, or
