FRANK BROWN, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

of August the treasurer shall sit for two days at the principal
town in each election district, and in the months of Septem-
ber and October, one day, for the purpose of receiving taxes,
due notice of which sittings shall be given by him; and he
shall report to the County Commissioners, at their regular
meetings on the second Tuesday in each month, the amount
of taxes of all kinds received by him up to that date, the

amount of discounts made, and the balance remaining in his
hands; and he shall deposit at the close of each week, in one
or more of the National banks in said county, all moneys that
may have come into his hands during said week — the portion
belonging to the State, to the credit of the Comptroller of the
State Treasury, and that belonging to the county, to the credit
of Cecil county, and shall receive therefor, from said banks,
two certificates of deposit, and he shall immediately forward
to the Comptroller the certificate showing the amount placed
to his credit, and shall exhibit to the County Commissioners
the one showing the amount placed to the credit of Cecil
county, and file the same in their office; and the money thus
deposited to the credit of Cecil county shall be drawn out
only upon a check signed by the Treasurer and approved by
the president of the board of County Commissioners.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 499.

AN ACT to lay out and establish two new Election Districts
in Caroline County, to be known as Districts Number Seven
and Number Eight, or Ridgely and American Corner Dis-
tricts, respectively, and also to change the boundary line
between the second and third election districts on the east
side of Choptank River.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That two new election districts be laid out and
established in Caroline county, Maryland, one to be known as
district number seven or Ridgely district, and be composed of
parts of the second and sixth districts, and the other to be
known as district number eight or American Corner district,
