FRANK BROWN, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR,
CHAPTER 495.
AN ACT to refund to John Albert Boyd a sum of money
improperly paid into the Treasury.

WHEREAS, John Albert Boyd was duly returned elected
sheriff of Cecil county, at the general election held therein,
on the seventh day of November, eighteen hundred and
ninety-three, and was duly commissioned by the Governor;
and

WHEREAS, The said John Albert Boyd paid to the clerk of
the Circuit Court for Cecil county, the sum of forty dollars,
as a State tax on his said commission, which said sum has been
paid into the State treasury; and

WHEREAS, The Circuit Court for Cecil county, upon pro-
ceedings therein, has decided that said John Albert Boyd was
not elected sheriff of said county, but that a certain Clinton J.
White was duly elected; therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Comptroller of the Treasury be and he
is hereby authorized and directed to draw his warrant upon
the Treasurer of said State, in favor of the said John Albert
Boyd, for said sum of forty dollars, paid into the treasury as
aforesaid.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 496.
AN ACT to add tive additional sections to Article 14 of the
Code of Public Local Laws, title "Howard County," sub-
title "Police," to come in after Section 101, and to be des-
ignated as 101 A, 101 B, 101 C, 101 D, 101 E.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That five additional sections be added to article 14
of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Howard County,"
sub-title "Police," to come in after section 101, and to be des-
ignated as sections 101 A, 101 B, 101 C, 101 D, 101 E.
