CHAPTER 417.
AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of Anne
Arundel County to pay Wilbur F. Petherbridge for an
index to wills and intestate estates, of record in the office of
the Register of Wills of said County.

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, Wilbur F. Petherbridge, late register of wills for
Anne Arundel county, during his incumbency of said office,
prepared an index to wills and intestate estates, of record in
said office, covering the period from 1716 to 1777; and
|

|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, The records thus indexed were almost valueless
for want of such index; and whereas, they are now made valu-
able by reason of said index; therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel
county be and they are hereby authorized and empowered to
pay to Wilbur F. Petherbridge such sum as may be mutually
agreed on between the said Petherbridge and said commission-
ers, for said index, if said commissioners shall deem it desir-
able and proper to pay for said index.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 418.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections
84 "A" and 84 " B " of Article 27 of the Code of Public
General Laws of Maryland, title "Crimes and Punish-
ments," sub-title "False Pretenses," relating to frauds and
false pretenses upon hotel and livery stable keepers, as
enacted by the Act of 1892, Chapter 42.

Repeal.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section 84 "A" and section 84 "B," of article
27 of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, title
"Crimes and Punishments," sub-title "False Pretenses," as
enacted by the act of 1832, chapter 42, are hereby repealed
and re-enacted to read as follows :
