of issuing said bonds; and the mayor is hereby authorized, in
accordance with the ordinances of said city, to order an election,
to be held not later than September first, 1894, for the purpose
of determining whether said bonds shall be issued; and the
said ballots cast at said election shall contain the words "for
water bonds" and "against water bonds," and if a majority of
the votes cast shall be in favor of the issuing of said bonds,
then, and only then, shall the Mayor and City Council be
authorized to issue the bonds, as hereinbefore provided.

Effective.

SEC. 5. And Be it further enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage, and that all other acts or
parts of acts inconsistent herewith be and the same are hereby
repealed.

CHAPTER 320.
AN ACT to add an additional section to Article 23, of the
Code of Public Local Laws, title " Wicomico County," sub-
title "Salisbury," to be numbered and designated as section
146 A.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the following section be added to the Code of
Public Local Laws, title "Wicomico County," sub-title " Salis-
bury," and to be numbered and designated as section 146 A.

May regulate
fire sales,
etc.
|
146 A. The Mayor and City Council of Salisbury shall have
power to pass such ordinance or ordinances as they may deem
necessary for the granting of licenses and permits for the
advertising and sale of damaged goods or articles, goods or
articles damaged by fire or otherwise, receivers, bankrupt,
assigns, slaughter, forced or closing out sales, indicating or im-
plying that the goods or articles are to be offered at less than
the usual market price; provided, that nothing in this section
shall apply to advertising and sale made by administrators,
trustees, assignees or receivers under order of a court of law.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
