LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAPTER 289.

AN ACT to add certain sub-sections to Article twenty of the
Code of Public Local Laws, title "Somerset County," sub-
title "Cristield."

Preamble.

WHEREAS, The town of Crisfield was, by the General
Assembly of Maryland, at its January session, 1892, consider-
ably enlarged in territory; and

WHEREAS, The recently included belt, as well as the original
limits, are represented to be greatly in need of new streets and
squares, to be laid out and lighted; and

WHEREAS, The town is without water works and street
mains, or a proper system of drainage, and the above or other
improvements may require funds for construction or main-
tenance, which the commissioners of Crisfield are now unable
to extend, and they desire this General Assembly to grant
them power to issue bonds to a certain extent; therefore,

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

New section a

That sub-section ninety two A (92 A), ninety-two B (92B),
ninety-two C (92 C), ninety-two D (92D), be added to section
ninety-two (92) of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, article twenty, title "Somerset County," sub-title "Cris-
field," to rea'd as follows :

SEC. 92 A. The cornmisioners of Crisfield are hereby author-
ized and empowered, if in their judgment they deem it expedi-
ent and proper, to issue bonds on the faith and credit of the said
town, from time to time, to be known as "Crisfield Improve-
ment Bonds," in an amount not exceeding thirty thousand
dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, and sell the
same, the fund arising therefrom to be used or expended only
for or on account of public improvements in the said town,
such as paying condemnation cost and opening new streets,
squares, or widening or straightening present streets, lanes and
alleys, and providing street lighting apparatus for same, or to
erect and maintain water works, stand pipes, street and service
mains, and fire plugs, or for improving the surface of the
streets, avenues, alleys, lanes or squares of said town, or
installing a proper system of drainage for said town, the com-
missioners to determine the proportion to be devoted to any or
all of such public improvements; said bonds shall be divided
into six aeries, to be known as series A, series B, series C,
