incorporation, and it is recognized to be for the advantage of
the people of said county, to assist and enable the construction
of said railroad by exempting property and obligations of said
railroad company from all county and municipal taxation for a
fixed period, to wit, thirty years. Now, therefore, the County
Commissioners of Queen Anne's County, and the commis-
sioners of the towns of Centreville and Church Hill, and the
commissioners of any other town and city of said county, now
or hereafter to be incorporated, are authorized, empowered and
directed by ordinance or order to be passed by said < 'ounty
Commissioners, and town commissioners, at a regular meeting,
to exempt from all county and municipal taxation for the
period of thirty years from the date of the passage of this
act, all the stock, bonds, property and franchises of the said
The Queen Anne's Railroad Company.

Effective.

SEC.2. Be it enacted, That this act take effect from the
date of its passage.

Approved April 6th, 1894.

CHAPTER 255.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact sub-section 35 A of Article
26 of the Code of Public General Laws, and to amend
the same so as to increase the salary of the messenger of the
Court of Appeals.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Repeal.

Maryland, That sub section u5 A of article 26 of the Code of
Public General Laws, be and the same is hereby repealed and
re-enacted so as to read as follows :

SEC. 35 A. The judges of the Court of Appeals are hereby

Messenger.

authorized to appoint a messenger to the court, and he shall
receive one thousand dollars, to be paid to him in quarterly
instalments.

Effective.

SEC. ?. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
