SEC.2. And be it enacted, That the yearly amount of such
actual pension to be allowed by said board of tire commissioners
to each pensioner shall be equal to one-half the yearly amount
then being received by him, for service in said department at
the time of such retirement, and shall be paid in even and
equal monthly instalments.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That for the purpose of carrying
out the provisioi'S of the foregoing sections, the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore are hereby directed to appropriate
annually such sums of money as shall be sufficient to pay the
pensions of such members of the tire department as shall here-
tofore have bten put upon said pension roll, and as shall there-
after be put upon said pension roll, in accordance with the
provisions of the preceding sections of this act.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved April 3d, 1894.

CHAPTER 191.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments, Sections
eleven, fourteen, fifteen, twenty-four, twenty-six, thirty,
thirty-two, thirty-three and thirty-six of Article fifty- four of
the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, and to add
a new section to said article, to be designated as Section 33 A.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That sections eleven, fourteen, fifteen, twenty-four, :
twenty-six, thirty, thirty-two, thirty three and thirty-six of
article fifty-four of the Code of Public General Laws of
Maryland, title "Land Office," be and the same are hereby
repealed and re-enacted so as to read as follows :

Repeal.

11. All moneys payable to the State on account of the public
lands shall be paid to the commissioner of the land office,
whose receipt therefor shall be a good acquittance to the party
paying the same, and the said commissioner shall keep an
accurate account of all such payments in a book kept for the
purpose, and shall account semi-annually, on the thirty-first
