LAWS OF MARYLAND.

86 B as enacted by the act of 1890, chapter 304, sections 87,
88, 89, section 89 A. as enacted by the act of 1890, chapter
282, of article 56 of the Code of Public General Laws of the
State of Maryland, title "Licenses," sub-titles, respectively,
"Ordinary Keepers," "Oyster or Eating Houses," and "Penal-
ties," so far as said sections apply to Allegany county; chapter
438 of the act of 1892, entitled "An act to regulate the sale of
spirituous or fermented liquors within three miles in every
direction of the city of Cumberland, Maryland," be and the
same are hereby repealed.

New sections

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That sixteen new sec-
tions be and the same are hereby added to article one of the
Code of Public Local Laws of the State of Maryland, title
"Allegany County," under the sub-title "Intoxicating Liquors,"
to follow immediately after section 174, to be designated as
sections 175, 175 A, 175 B, 175C, 175D, 175E, 175F, 175G,
175 H, 175 I, 175 J, 175 K, 175 L, 175 M, 175 N, 175 O, to read as
follows :

Application
for license.

175 A. Every person applying for a license to keep an oyster
house, cook shop, victualling house, tavern, lager beer saloon,
or for an ordinary license to sell spirituous or fermented
liquors in Allegany county, shall file with the clerk of the
Circuit Court for Allegany county, his or her petition for such
license, and shall at the same time pay to said clerk two dollars
for expenses connected therewith, and said clerk shall cause to
be published three times in two leading newspapers of Cum-
berland, of opposite political parties, a list containing the
names of all such applicants, their respective residences and
the place of business for which such application is made; the
first publication shall not be less than ten days nor more than
twenty days before the time fixed by said clerk for the con-
sideration of such applications.

175 B. Said petition shall state the name and residence of
the applicant or applicants, and how long he, she or they have
resided therein; second, the particular place for which a license
is desired, designating the same by street and number, if
practicable, and if not, by such other apt description as
definitely locates it; third, the name of the owner of the
premises upon which the business licensed is to be carried on ;
fourth, a statement that the applicant is a citizen of the
United States; fifth, that the applicant or applicants have nor
has either of them had a license for the sale of intoxicating
liquors revoked under the provisions of this law, nor has either
