CHAPTER 132.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
611 of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
"City of Baltimore," sub-title "Justices of the Peace and
Constables."

Repeal.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section six hundred and eleven of article
four of the Code of Public Local Laws, title " City of Balti-
more," sub-title "Justices of the Peace and Constables," be
and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amend-
ments so as to read as follows :

turnable.

611. Every writ of replevin or summons issued by said Jus-
tice shall be made returnable before the same or any justice of
the peace of the ward in which the defendant may reside, and
the defendant shall have his election to have his case tried
before the justice who issued the writ of replevin or summons,
or before the justice of the ward in which he resides.

Approved March 27th, 1894.

CHAPTER 133.

AN ACT to repeal Article twenty, Section 240, of the Code
of Public Local Laws, title "Somerset County," subtitle
"Sheriffs," and re-enact the same with amendments.

Repeal.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That article twenty, section 240, of the Code of
Pubfic Local Laws, title "Somerset County," sub-title "Sheriffs,"
be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to read
as follows:

SEC. 240. He may be allowed for the removal of one con-
vict to the penitentiary, house of refuge, house of refor-
mation or any other institution for the punishment or refor-
mation of persons convicted of crimes or other offenses, the
sum of thirty dollars, and for every additional prisoner con-
victed at the same term of court, or found guilty at the same
time by a justice of the peace, and sentenced to one of the
said institutions, an additional compensation of ten dollars,
and said compensation shall include all expenses incidental to
