re-enacted so as to read as follows :

Terms of Cir-
cuit Courts.

59. The regular law terms of the Circuit Court for Wash-
ington county shall commence on the second Monday of
February, the second Monday of May and the third Monday
of November in each and every year, and to each of said
terms juries shall be summoned and returned in the mode and
manner prescribed by law; there shall also be a term of said
court beginning on the first Monday of August of each year,
to which no jurors shall be summoned, but to which process
shall also be returnable for the entering of judgments in
uncontested cases, the transaction of any business not requiring
the presence or aid of a jury; and in the trial of any case in
said court the judges or judge presiding shall have the power
and authority to employ a stenographer or shorthand reporter
to take down the proceedings, including the testimony, for the
use of the court; and the County Commissioners shall levy
such compensation for the service of such stenographer or
shorthand reporter as the court or judge thereof shall
approve of.

Effective

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 125.

AN ACT to amend and add certain additional sections to
Chapter 479 of the Acts of eighteen hundred and ninety,
amending the charter of the Chesapeake Bank, and enlarging
its corporate powers and franchises and changing its name
to the "Chesapeake Bank and Trust Company."

Repeal

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That chapter 479 of the acts of eighteen hundred
and ninety is hereby amended and re-enacted by adding the
following sections, to be known and numbered as follows :
